At Newbold, we believe in the power of Monday motivation.
“The Roundup” is an exciting digital collective of uplifting content that we’ll be sharing with you each Monday, to inspire you for the week ahead. We might share a cool extract from a book or a poem we’ve been reading, or reveal a song of the week that has inspired us, or just offer some tips to encourage balance and wellbeing that really work.
Our Chaplain Alastair Agbaje handpicks personal recommendations for your upcoming week:
Health tip: quench that thirst - drink water!
We all have our daily health routines - is water part of yours? Try and aim for 8 glasses of water a day, it aids digestion, keep you energised, hydrates your skin and so much more. If you find its something easy to forget, try and carry a water bottle with you on the go. To jazz it up a little, why not add lemon, lime or cucumber? Fresh.
Exercise tip: do the plank!
The plank is a great exercise to add to your fitness regime - it strengthens your core and mobility, as well as your legs and shoulders, and also helps to build endurance. Start off holding for 10 seconds, then 20, and build your way up. The plank makes for a powerful mind-body connection, but careful on your positioning - it can be an easy one to get even slightly wrong.
Song of the week:
All to Us by Chris Tomlin
When Alastair listens to this song, he feels the lyrics embrace exactly what it is that we need to be: inclusive, equal, and a diverse people - working together.
