Julian Thompson

Lecturer in Hebrew Bible

Julian Thompson

BA (Hons) LTh MA DPhil (Cand.)

With a background in political science, Julian’s research interests lie in the application of contemporary interdisciplinary approaches to the Hebrew Bible. In his own work, he uses insights from the study of orality to explore the role and function of some of the oldest poetry in the Hebrew Bible.

Julian is an ordained pastor, who having also served as a religion editor, spent seven years in full-time ministry before becoming a lecturer at Newbold College. Julian’s door is always open and he is available for consultations and speaking appointments.
