The Newboldian is a regular publication for alumni and friends of Newbold College of Higher Education. It is published by the Recruitment, Marketing and Sales office and contains scholarly articles, College news, and items of interest for alumni and other members of the Newbold community.
The Autumn/Winter 2016 issue celebrates the 100th birthday of Dr John Woodfield, a former lecturer at Newbold who will be remembered by many alumni from his 30 years of service. The issue also contains details of Diversity Lectures held in April and September, and the 2016 Beach Lecture which was given in October by Dr Philip Lewis, a visiting fellow at York St John University. You can read articles written by our academic staff – from archaeology trips to language learning – and about our student activities this year, including the new chapter of Sigma Beta Delta that was launched at Newbold, a recent service trip to Ireland, and the return of the annual trip to Cornwall.
