Hi Fernanda, how long have you been working in the Admissions department?

I’ve been working in the department for just over a couple of months now!

What are the most exciting and challenging aspects of your role?

The possibility to help more students to join Newbold – it’s exciting and challenging at the same time!

Where is a place that you always return to?

My husband, Alex’s hug!


How would your friends and family describe you in one sentence?

The one that likes to organise events, especially parties!


If you could take your family on holiday right now, where would it be and why?

A beach house in Italy! For the sun, sand, sea, and very good food!


Can you share a bible verse that you find inspiring?

Matthew 6:34:

‘Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble’.


What positive thing should everyone incorporate into their daily lives?

Help, be nice and remember that other people are important like you.


Do you have any unusual habits?

Drink my ‘chimarrão/mate*’ every day.

*Chimarrão is bitter boiling-hot maté tea, taken without sugar and drunk from a cuia (cured gourd or horn) through a metallic or bamboo straw.


What is the best book you’ve ever read?

‘Project Sunlight’ – June Strong. It changed my life when I was getting to know God.


What one piece of advice would you give a student whilst they’re doing through the admissions process?

Read the steps carefully and be patient!
