10 questions: answered. Helena Gallusz, our smiley Receptionist, shares her favourite Hungarian word of all-time, recommends one thing that we should try and experience in our lifetime, and reveals something she has learned about herself recently.
Hello Helena, how long have you worked on the Reception desk at the College?
I have been here for almost three months.
What do you enjoy the most about your role here?
Reception is a busy environment. Different people contact me with different requests. It’s great to meet people and I really enjoy helping them.

Hungarian is your native language; can you teach us your favourite word or expression in Hungarian?
It is ‘édesanya’ which literally means ‘sweet mother’.
What is something you think everyone should do/try at least once in their lives?
Well, I must tell you that I like travelling. One of my greatest trips with my husband was visiting Israel – I recommend you try floating in the Dead Sea!
How would your friends describe you?
I am a people person and I believe those close to me see me as a friendly, caring person with a strong feeling of empathy, with whom they enjoy spending time with – whether in my home, in nature or in whichever setting.
Can you share something that you love to do in your spare time?
Music is an important part of my life. I enjoy not only listening music, but also playing piano.
What’s something new you’ve learned about yourself in the last year?
I’ve learned that I enjoy teaching piano for beginners. It is so rewarding to see how those children with whom I spend time weekly in piano lessons grow step by step.

What are you grateful for today?
Family is a very important part of my life, and I am grateful that the Lord blessed me.
