“Dr Lubica Mueller and Dr Eike Mueller have each made a significant contribution to the life and mission of Newbold College, and while they will be missed, we celebrate this new chapter in their ministry. Lubica’s leadership of our Marketing & Communications Department has strengthened Newbold’s voice and reach at a pivotal time in the College’s history, while Eike’s faithful scholarship, thoughtful teaching, and pastoral engagement have shaped the lives of many students. Their appointments at Andrews University and Andrews University Press are a testament to their gifts and dedication to Christian higher education. We are deeply grateful for their service to Newbold and pray that God will continue to bless and guide them as they begin these important new responsibilities.”Dan Serb, Principal of Newbold College

Dr Lubica Mueller

Dr Lubica Mueller concludes her tenure as Head of Marketing and Communications at Newbold College on 31 July 2026, after three years and eight months of leadership. Drawing on extensive strategic marketing experience from Andrews University, she led the College through a significant period of institutional development and stakeholder engagement.

Dr Mueller joined Newbold at a time when its marketing and communications function needed to be rebuilt on a clearer strategic footing. Her work supported the campaign for new programmes, digital infrastructure and the recruitment pipeline, while her collaborative approach strengthened relationships across internal and external networks.

During her tenure, she strengthened Newbold's visibility within the Seventh-day Adventist higher education network and the wider UK sector, deepening partnerships across the Trans-European Division and extending the College's reach to prospective students, alumni and church-community partners. Alongside her institutional leadership, she completed her PhD in Market Studies at the University of Leicester, defending her thesis in January 2023.

Dr Mueller now takes up the role of Director at Andrews Academic Press, building on the strategic and scholarly foundation she developed at Newbold.

Dr Eike Mueller

Dr Eike Mueller concludes his tenure as Senior Lecturer in New Testament at Newbold College on 31 July 2026. Since joining the Department of Theology and Ministry in September 2022, he has shaped students' theological education, brought scholarly rigour to biblical studies and helped advance Newbold's vision for pastors and scholars in a secular and culturally complex world.

Before arriving at Newbold, Dr Mueller served at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in the Philippines as Associate Professor of New Testament and Assistant Dean. His New Testament scholarship, pastoral experience in Germany and commitment to relevant, engaging theological education have strengthened the College's academic community.

Colleagues will remember him as both an accomplished scholar and a generous, engaged member of the community. His classroom discussions with students from many cultures, his mentoring and his contribution to the New Testament curriculum have made a lasting impact.

Dr Mueller moves to Andrews University to continue his contribution to theological education and scholarship. The College is grateful for the friendships, conversations and example that he, Lubica and their daughters Sophie and Nina have shared with the Newbold community.

We thank Dr Lubica Mueller and Dr Eike Mueller for their contribution to Newbold College and wish them every blessing as they begin this next chapter.
