The digital version of The Newboldian Magazine is out now!
The 2022 edition of the annual College publication is now available on the dedicated Newboldian Magazine webpage. If you have previously subscribed to receive the magazine via email, this should arrive in your inbox shortly.
A magazine for alumni and friends of the College, this issue marks the first edition in Dr Stephen Currow’s time as Principal, and opens with his plans for the institution in the coming months and beyond. This feature includes a vision of the growth for the College and the Centre for Ministry and Mission, the reestablishment of partnerships with other Adventist institutions, teaching methods and a hybrid approach to learning, and more.
Additional features include former Principal Dr John Baildam’s reflection after a career at Newbold that spans four decades, a look back at the first physical Awards Ceremony since the COVID-19 pandemic, and a must-know guide to scholarships that support prospective students as they consider their funding options.
A feature on the 2022 Bible Conference reviews the event that brought together a vibrant team of speakers who shared insightful and explorative presentations on the key topic: “Challenges, Issues, Opportunities: Adventism in the 21st Century”, and the College bid a fond farewell to Helen and Mike Pearson as they stepped down from their much beloved Diversity Centre for happy years in retirement. A heartfelt interview reflects on their time at the helm from the 1990s, spearheading a safe space to discuss religion and culture, impacting local and global communities alike. Dr Gifford Rhamie offers insight into his work and passion for making a positive difference in defining equality, diversity and inclusion.
Reading through student testimonials will leave you inspired, as they share their stories on identifying and answering their personal call to ministry.

Dr Stephen Currow, Principal
“This is the first edition of the Newboldian for our alumni and friends in my time as Principal. I greatly appreciate the stories of our graduates in mission and the testimonies of our current students. I also appreciate the great contribution that Helen and Mike Pearson have made to Newbold throughout the many years of service and into their retirement. Newbold, its students and staff, continues to make an impact and leave a profound legacy.”
The Newboldian Blueprint
We are conscious of our environmental blueprint, and therefore plan to publish The Newboldian Magazine as a digital publication from the 2023 edition onwards.
We do appreciate that there may be a number of individuals who are keen to receive their issue as a paperback copy, so this will still be a possibility but it is important to note that this will be a limited print run.
If you would like to receive a printed copy, we invite you to fill out the form on The Newboldian Magazine page and select ‘post’, otherwise we will assume that you are happy to receive a digital publication.
